Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain line, Algae or slime buildup in drain pan, Improper indoor unit leveling, Cracked drain pan or disconnected drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the unit and place towels or a container to catch water.
User steps:
- Remove the front panel and filters to inspect the drain pan for standing water and debris.
- Clean visible slime and dirt from the pan with a cloth and mild detergent.
- Use a wet/dry vacuum at the outdoor end of the drain hose to suck out blockages.
- Check that the indoor unit is slightly tilted toward the drain side; adjust mounting if obviously sloped the wrong way.
Technician tasks:
- Flush the drain line with water and disinfectant.
- Repair or replace cracked drain pans or hoses.
- Inspect and service any internal drain pump if fitted.
