Buttons on the control panel do not respond or respond intermittently.

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.

Steps:

• 1. Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes and plug back in to rule out a temporary logic issue.
• 2. Inspect panel: Remove the front bezel to access the control panel. Check for signs of moisture, corrosion, or physical damage.
• 3. Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat ribbon cable from the keypad/display board to the main PCB is fully seated and not damaged.
• 4. Dry and clean: If moisture is present, gently dry the area and clean contacts with electronic contact cleaner.
• 5. Replace control panel: If specific buttons never work or the membrane is cracked, replace the entire display/control board assembly with a Danby-compatible part.
