Possible Causes

Condensate not draining properly, Blocked internal drain passage, Unit not level causing water to pool incorrectly, Faulty water level sensor or float

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit before draining.

Steps:

  • 1. Drain water: Move the unit to a location where water spillage is acceptable. Remove the lower drain plug and drain water into a shallow pan or attach a hose if provided.
  • 2. Level the unit: Ensure the portable AC is on a flat, level surface so water flows correctly to the drain point.
  • 3. Clear drain path: Use a small flexible brush or pipe cleaner to gently clear the drain port. Flush with warm water if accessible.
  • 4. Check float or sensor: Remove the rear panel to access the base tray. Inspect the float mechanism or water level sensor for sticking or debris. Clean and verify free movement.
  • 5. Test: Reassemble, plug in, and run the unit. If P1 returns immediately with an empty tray, the level sensor or PCB input may be faulty and require replacement.
