Possible Causes
Excessive condensate due to high humidity, Blocked upper drain path, Stuck upper float switch, Faulty float wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before draining.
Steps:
- 1. Drain both ports: Some Danby portables have both upper and lower drain ports. Remove both caps and drain completely.
- 2. Inspect upper tray: Remove the rear cover to access the internal trays. Check for mold, slime, or debris that could block water flow.
- 3. Check upper float: Locate the upper float switch and verify it moves freely. Clean any buildup and test continuity with a multimeter while moving the float.
- 4. Reassemble and test: After cleaning and draining, reassemble and run the unit. If P2 persists, replace the upper float switch assembly.
