How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power to the air handler/furnace before removing blower access panels.
- Step 1 – Inspect blower wheel: Check for rubbing marks on the housing and ensure the wheel is centered.
- Step 2 – Tighten set screw: Verify the blower wheel is tight on the motor shaft.
- Step 3 – Check motor bearings: Spin the wheel by hand. If it feels rough or noisy, the motor bearings are likely failing and the motor should be replaced.
- Step 4 – Remove debris: Clean any foreign objects from the blower housing.
