Loud banging or rattling noise from outdoor unit during operation

Safety first: Turn OFF power at the outdoor disconnect before inspecting the unit.

• Step 1 – Inspect fan blade: Look through the top grille for bent blades or foreign objects. Remove any debris.
• Step 2 – Check blade tightness: Remove the top panel and verify the fan blade set screw is tight on the motor shaft.
• Step 3 – Tighten panels: Ensure all cabinet screws are tight and panels are not vibrating.
• Step 4 – Compressor mounts: Check that compressor mounting bolts and rubber isolators are intact. Replace damaged isolators.
