Health note: Mold spores can affect indoor air quality. Wear a mask and gloves when cleaning.
- 1. Clean filters: Wash filters with warm soapy water and allow to dry completely.
- 2. Access evaporator: Remove the front panel to expose the evaporator coil. Spray with a non-rinse foaming coil cleaner approved for air conditioners. Follow product instructions.
- 3. Clean drain pan: Wipe the drain pan with a cloth and mild disinfectant. Ensure the drain outlet is clear.
- 4. Run in FAN mode: After cleaning, run the unit in FAN-only mode for 30–60 minutes to help dry the coil and interior.
- 5. Regular maintenance: Repeat cleaning every few months in humid climates to prevent recurrence.
