De'Longhi Thermal Expansion / Plastic Casing Noise or Relay Operation

Unit emits clicking or ticking noises periodically during operation.

Possible Causes

Normal expansion and contraction of plastic panels, Relay switching on PCB, Loose panel clips, Fan blades lightly contacting housing

1. Identify source: Remove the front panel (if possible) and run the unit to localize the sound (keep hands clear of moving parts).

2. Tighten panels: Ensure all screws and clips holding the plastic housing are secure.
3. Check fan clearance: Verify that fan blades are not lightly touching the shroud or grille.
4. Normal operation: Occasional soft clicks from relays or thermal expansion are normal. Continuous loud clicking should be investigated further.
