Possible Causes

Aged or damaged evaporator NTC, Sensor not in good thermal contact with coil, Corroded connector, Faulty indoor PCB

Safety: Disconnect power.

Steps:

Check sensor mounting: Ensure the evaporator sensor is firmly clipped to the coil and not hanging loose.
Inspect for corrosion: Clean any oxidation on the connector with contact cleaner and reseat.
Replace sensor: Install a new evaporator temperature sensor if F2 recurs.
Board check: If a new sensor does not fix F2, the indoor PCB sensor circuit may require replacement.
