Possible Causes
Failed indoor fan motor, Faulty fan capacitor (on AC motors), Loose fan connector, Faulty indoor PCB fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the fan.
Steps:
- Mode check: Ensure the unit is not in a mode where the fan is intentionally off (e.g., some defrost or preheat modes).
- Inspect wiring: Reseat the fan motor connector on the PCB.
- Spin test: Try to rotate the blower by hand. If stiff, the motor is likely seized.
- Replace motor/capacitor: On non-inverter models, replace the fan capacitor first. If no improvement, replace the indoor fan motor.
