Remote control does not operate the unit reliably

Steps:

• Replace batteries: Install fresh, high-quality batteries in the remote.
• Clean IR windows: Wipe the remote's IR emitter and the indoor unit's receiver window with a soft, dry cloth.
• Distance and angle: Operate the remote within 5–7 meters and with a clear line of sight.
• Test remote: Point the remote at a smartphone camera; pressing buttons should show a flashing light on the screen. If not, the remote is faulty.
• IR receiver: If a known-good remote still does not work, the indoor IR receiver or PCB may need replacement.
