Possible Causes
Failed ECM or PSC blower motor, Blown indoor control board fuse, Faulty blower relay on control board, Seized blower wheel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power to the air handler at the breaker.
- Check board fuse: Inspect the low-voltage fuse (often 3–5A automotive style) on the Fraser‑Johnston control board. Replace if blown, but look for shorts in thermostat wiring.
- Test fan in ON mode: Set thermostat fan to ON. If blower still does not run, proceed to motor checks.
- Inspect blower wheel: Ensure it spins freely by hand. Remove debris and verify no rubbing.
- Measure voltage: With power restored and a fan call, check for correct voltage at the motor terminals. If voltage is present but motor does not run, replace the blower motor.
