Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between keypad and main PCB, damaged touchpad membrane, liquid intrusion into control panel, failed user interface board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the air conditioner before removing the front bezel or control panel.
Steps to resolve F1:
- Inspect control panel: Check for signs of moisture, such as condensation or spills on the keypad area. Dry the surface thoroughly.
- Remove front bezel: Carefully remove the front cover to access the control panel and main PCB.
- Check ribbon cable: Locate the flat ribbon cable or harness connecting the keypad to the main board. Reseat both ends, ensuring they are fully inserted and locked.
- Look for corrosion: If the keypad connector shows corrosion or green/white deposits, clean gently with contact cleaner or replace the keypad assembly.
- Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, and test the buttons. If F1 persists or buttons do not respond, replace the control panel / user interface board.
Warning: Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel; apply to a cloth first to avoid future damage.
