LO

Low Temperature Protection / Freeze Protection Active
Display shows LO and unit does not cool properly

Possible Causes
Indoor coil temperature too low due to low load, dirty filter restricting airflow, low fan speed, low refrigerant charge, faulty evaporator sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the unit OFF before cleaning filters or coils.
Steps:
- Clean filter: Remove and clean the air filter thoroughly.
- Check airflow: Ensure supply and return grilles are not blocked by furniture, curtains, or covers.
- Inspect indoor coil: If the coil is iced over, turn the unit to FAN ONLY mode and allow the ice to melt completely. Then clean the coil if dirty.
- Adjust setpoint: Avoid setting the thermostat extremely low in cool mode when the room is already cool.
- Sensor check: If LO persists and the coil is not freezing, the evaporator sensor may be misreading; see E2 procedures.
- Refrigerant issues: Repeated freezing or LO with clean filters may indicate low refrigerant; contact a technician.
