Possible Causes
Failed indoor fan motor, seized blower wheel, loose fan motor connector, defective fan speed triac or relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the blower assembly.
Steps:
- Check for obstructions: Remove the front cover and ensure nothing is blocking the blower wheel.
- Spin test: Try spinning the blower wheel by hand. If it is stuck, remove debris or adjust its position.
- Inspect wiring: Verify the fan motor connector is fully seated on the control board and that wires are not damaged.
- Motor replacement: If the motor hums but does not turn, or does nothing at all with proper voltage present, replace the indoor fan motor.
- Board issue: If a new motor does not run and there is no output from the board, the control board may need replacement.
