Possible Causes
Tripped circuit breaker, blown fuse on control board, faulty power cord, failed main control board, open internal thermal fuse
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not attempt live electrical work if you are not trained. Always turn OFF the breaker before opening the unit.
Steps:
- Check outlet and breaker: Verify the outlet has power by plugging in another device. Reset any tripped breaker or replace a blown house fuse.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or loose prongs. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Test GFCI (if equipped): Some Friedrich units have a GFCI plug. Press RESET on the plug and see if power is restored.
- Internal fuse: With power disconnected, remove the front cover and locate any inline or board-mounted fuses. Replace only with the same type and rating.
- Control board: If power is present at the board but there is no display or response, the main control board may be defective and require replacement.
