Possible Causes

Condensate pump failure, blocked pump discharge line, stuck float in pump reservoir, kinked drain hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before working on the pump or drain system.

Steps:

  • 1. Inspect drain hose: Ensure the hose from the pump to the drain is not kinked, elevated excessively, or blocked. Flush with water if needed.
  • 2. Access pump assembly: Remove the rear or side panel to locate the condensate pump. Check for debris in the pump reservoir and clean it.
  • 3. Check float and switch: Verify that the float moves freely and that the float switch is not stuck or corroded.
  • 4. Test pump operation: With the unit reassembled but still accessible, plug in and run cooling mode. As water accumulates, listen for the pump to activate. If it does not run, test for voltage at the pump terminals (technician-level). Replace the pump if it receives power but does not run.
  • 5. Reset: After clearing and/or replacing the pump, reset the unit by unplugging for 5 minutes and restarting.
