Possible Causes
Dead remote batteries, blocked IR sensor window, failed IR receiver on control board, defective remote transmitter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal high-voltage work is needed for basic checks, but unplug the unit if you open the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Replace batteries: Install fresh, correctly oriented batteries in the Frigidaire remote.
- 2. Check line of sight: Ensure nothing blocks the IR receiver window on the front of the unit. Clean the window with a soft cloth.
- 3. Test remote: Point the remote at a smartphone camera and press buttons; you should see the IR LED flash on the camera screen. If not, replace the remote.
- 4. IR receiver: If the remote works but the unit does not respond, the IR receiver module on the control board may be faulty. Replace the display/control board assembly.
