Steps:

• 1. Check room size: If the unit is significantly oversized, it will cool quickly and shut off, then restart often. This is normal but inefficient; consider a smaller unit.
• 2. Sensor placement: Ensure the room thermistor is not directly in the cold air stream. If it is, gently reposition it so it senses average room air.
• 3. Clean filter and coils: Ice buildup from restricted airflow can cause short cycling. Clean the filter and coils thoroughly.
• 4. Test sensor: If cycling is erratic and not related to room temperature, test and replace the room temperature sensor.
