Possible Causes
Air filter dirty or clogged, Filter timer reached service interval, Restricted airflow across evaporator coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the unit off and unplug it before removing the filter.
Steps:
- Remove filter: Open the front grille and slide out the air filter.
- Clean filter: Vacuum dust from the filter, then wash with mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely.
- Inspect coil: With the filter removed, visually inspect the evaporator coil. If heavily dusty, gently brush or vacuum the fins.
- Reinstall and reset: Reinstall the dry filter, plug the unit back in, and reset the filter reminder per the user manual (often by holding the Filter or Reset button for several seconds).
Note: CF is not a fault; it is a maintenance reminder. Regular cleaning improves performance and prevents other error codes.
