How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power.
Procedure:
- Access evaporator: Remove front cover and expose the evaporator coil.
- Locate sensor: Find the thermistor clipped to the coil tubing.
- Check contact: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil. Reattach if loose.
- Inspect wiring: Look for damage along the harness and at the connector. Repair or replace as needed.
- Test and replace: Measure resistance; if out of spec, install a new GE evaporator thermistor.
- Control board: If F2 persists with a known-good sensor, replace the main control board.
