Possible Causes
Secondary condensate reservoir full, Blocked internal drain path, Faulty high-level float switch, Unit not draining properly in continuous drain mode
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit.
Procedure:
- Drain both ports: Many GE portable units have upper and lower drain ports. Remove both caps and drain all water into a suitable container.
- Inspect continuous drain setup: If using a hose for continuous drain, ensure it slopes downward with no upward loops and is not submerged in standing water.
- Clean internal passages: If accessible, gently flush the drain path with a small amount of clean water and ensure it flows freely out the drain port.
- Check high-level float: Access the internal float assembly and verify it is not stuck in the up position. Clean and free it if necessary.
- Replace float/sensor: If P2 returns immediately after draining and cleaning, replace the high-level float switch or water level sensor.
