Possible Causes

Clogged air filter, Evaporator coil heavily iced or dirty, Blower wheel clogged with dust, Blower wheel loose on motor shaft

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit.

Steps:

  • Clean filter: Remove and wash the filter.
  • Check for ice: Remove front cover and inspect the evaporator coil. If iced over, turn the unit off and let it thaw completely. Then run on FAN ONLY for 30 minutes.
  • Clean coil and blower: Gently clean dust from the evaporator fins and blower wheel using a soft brush and vacuum.
  • Check blower attachment: Ensure the blower wheel is firmly attached to the motor shaft and not slipping. Tighten the set screw if loose.
  • Fan speed: Confirm the fan speed setting is on HIGH for maximum airflow.
