Possible Causes

Multiple indoor units on a multi-split system requesting different modes, Control logic conflict on PCB, Faulty indoor PCB not following outdoor mode, Incorrect wiring of multi-split indoor units

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF all indoor units before changing wiring or configuration.

  • Step 1 – Synchronize modes: On multi‑split Gree systems, ensure all indoor units are set to the same mode (all COOL or all HEAT). Turn OFF all units, then turn them ON one by one in the same mode.
  • Step 2 – Reset system: Turn OFF the main breaker for 10 minutes, then restore power and set a single indoor unit to COOL. If it works, gradually add other units.
  • Step 3 – Check wiring labels: Verify that each indoor unit is connected to the correct outdoor terminals as per the installation manual. Mis‑wiring can cause mode conflicts.
  • Step 4 – Technician diagnosis: If E7 continues even with a single indoor unit, the indoor or outdoor PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
