How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power before opening the outdoor unit.
- Step 1 – Check outdoor coil sensor placement: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil where specified by Gree and not hanging loose.
- Step 2 – Inspect wiring: Look for damaged or loose sensor wires leading to the outdoor PCB.
- Step 3 – Power reset: Turn OFF the breaker for 10 minutes to reset the control logic, then test in HEAT mode.
- Step 4 – Technician service: If F9 continues, a technician should test sensor resistance and defrost control operation, and may need to replace the outdoor PCB.
