Possible Causes
High system pressure due to dirty coils, Low refrigerant causing overheating, Blocked outdoor airflow, Failing compressor drawing excessive current
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power and do not repeatedly restart the unit to avoid compressor damage.
- Step 1 – Clean indoor and outdoor coils: Clean filters and coils as described in E1/E2 procedures to reduce system load.
- Step 2 – Check outdoor airflow: Ensure no obstructions around the outdoor unit and that the fan runs normally.
- Step 3 – Allow cool-down: Leave the unit OFF for at least 30 minutes to let the compressor cool, then test again.
- Step 4 – Technician diagnosis: If H3 recurs, a technician must check compressor current, refrigerant charge, and possibly replace the compressor or outdoor PCB.
