How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Do not attempt to spin the fan while power is connected.
- Check fan blade: Ensure the fan blade is not obstructed by debris or ice. Remove any blockage.
- Inspect motor wiring: Open the outdoor control box and verify the fan motor plug is fully seated and wires are intact.
- Spin test: With power off, spin the fan blade by hand. It should move freely. If seized or rough, replace the fan motor.
- If F6 persists with a free-spinning fan: The DC motor or outdoor PCB driver is likely faulty. Replace the outdoor fan motor first; if the error remains, the outdoor PCB may need replacement by a technician.
