Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain pipe, Drain pan algae or sludge buildup, Improper indoor unit tilt away from drain, Cracked drain pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the unit and place towels or a container under the leak area.
- Clear drain pipe: Locate the drain hose outside and use a wet/dry vacuum to suck out clogs from the outlet side.
- Clean drain pan: Remove the front cover and filters. Access the drain pan and remove debris, slime, and mold with a cloth and mild disinfectant.
- Check unit level: Use a level to ensure the indoor unit is slightly tilted toward the drain side. Adjust mounting plate or brackets if necessary.
- Inspect for cracks: If the drain pan is cracked, it may need replacement, which usually requires removing the indoor unit from the wall.
