Heil outdoor unit runs but indoor blower does not; coil may freeze and little or no air comes from vents

Safety first: Turn off power to the furnace/air handler at the breaker. Blower compartments may have sharp edges.

• Step 1 – Check thermostat fan setting: Set fan to ON. If blower still does not run, proceed.
• Step 2 – Inspect fuse: Check the low-voltage fuse on the indoor control board and replace if blown. If it blows again, there is a wiring short.
• Step 3 – Inspect blower wheel: Remove blower compartment door and check if the wheel spins freely by hand. If seized or noisy, the motor bearings may be bad.
• Step 4 – Check motor connections: Ensure the ECM motor plug is fully seated. If the motor is getting power but not running, it likely needs replacement.
