How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: This fault involves high current and high voltage. Turn off power at the breaker and do not repeatedly reset if the breaker trips.

Step 1 – Check supply voltage and connections:
- Verify that the breaker size matches the unit rating.
- Inspect the power cable and terminal block at the outdoor unit for burnt or loose connections.
Step 2 – Listen for compressor behavior:
- When power is restored and the unit is started, listen at the outdoor unit.
- A loud humming with no start, or immediate trip, suggests compressor or inverter issues.
Step 3 – Inspect outdoor PCB visually:
- With power off, remove the cover and look for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or blown fuses on the inverter board.
Step 4 – Call a technician:
- Testing compressor windings, inverter module, and current draw requires specialized tools.
- Do not attempt to bypass safety devices or run the unit with covers removed.

Indoor unit displays E5 and the system does not start or stops shortly after starting.
