Possible Causes
Indoor unit requesting a mode not supported by outdoor unit, Incorrect wiring between indoor and outdoor units, Faulty indoor or outdoor PCB logic, Multiple indoor units in conflict on multi-split system
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before accessing wiring terminals.
- Step 1 – Reset system:
- Turn off all indoor units (if multi-split) and switch off the breaker for 5–10 minutes.
- Turn power back on and start only one indoor unit in COOL mode to test.
- Step 2 – Check wiring:
- Verify that the communication and power terminals (1–2–3 or L–N–S) are correctly matched between indoor and outdoor units.
- Ensure no two indoor units share incorrect addresses or wiring on multi-split systems.
- Step 3 – Confirm mode compatibility:
- On multi-split Hisense systems, all indoor units may need to run in the same mode (all COOL or all HEAT).
- Set all units to the same mode and temperature and see if E7 clears.
- Step 4 – Technician diagnosis: If wiring and mode settings are correct, a PCB logic fault may exist. A technician should check communication signals and update or replace the control boards as needed.
