Possible Causes
Failed outdoor DC fan motor, Seized fan bearings or obstructed fan blade, Faulty fan driver circuit on outdoor PCB, Loose fan motor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and wait for the fan to stop completely before working near the blades.
- Step 1 – Check for obstructions:
- Look for sticks, leaves, or debris jammed in the fan guard.
- Remove any obstructions and ensure the blade spins freely by hand.
- Step 2 – Inspect fan motor wiring:
- Remove the service panel and locate the fan motor connector on the PCB.
- Ensure it is fully seated and not burnt.
- Step 3 – Test operation:
- Restore power and start the unit.
- If the fan does not start or starts then stops with F4, the motor or driver is likely faulty.
- Step 4 – Replace fan motor if needed:
- Disconnect power again.
- Remove the fan guard and fan blade, then unbolt the motor.
- Install a new Hisense-compatible outdoor DC fan motor and reassemble.
- Note: If a new motor does not fix F4, the outdoor PCB fan driver is likely defective and should be replaced by a technician.
