Possible Causes
Internal condensate tank full, Blocked drain hose or port, Faulty water level float switch, Unit not level causing poor drainage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the portable AC before draining water. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
- Step 1 – Drain the tank:
- Move the unit to a location where water spillage is acceptable.
- Remove the drain plug or cap at the bottom rear of the unit.
- Drain water into a shallow pan or directly to a floor drain.
- Step 2 – Check drain hose (if used):
- Ensure the hose is not kinked, elevated above the outlet, or blocked.
- Clean any algae or debris from the hose.
- Step 3 – Level the unit:
- Use a spirit level or visual check to ensure the unit is on a flat, level surface.
- Step 4 – Inspect float switch:
- If P2 remains after draining, the float switch may be stuck.
- Access the tank area (per manual), gently move the float, and clean any slime or debris.
