Note: Some water under the outdoor unit during cooling or defrost is normal.

• Step 2 – Clear base pan drains:

  • Use a small brush or wire to clear drain holes in the outdoor unit base pan.
• Step 3 – Check indoor drain routing:
  • Ensure the indoor condensate drain is not incorrectly routed to the outdoor base in a way that causes overflow.
• Step 4 – Technician inspection: If water appears oily or has refrigerant odor, or if corrosion is visible, have a technician inspect for coil leaks.
