Possible Causes
Failed indoor fan motor, Seized blower wheel, Faulty fan capacitor (if used), Defective indoor PCB fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker or unplug the unit. Moving fan blades can cause injury.
Steps:
- Check for obstructions: Remove the front cover and inspect the blower wheel for foreign objects or heavy dust buildup. Clean and remove obstructions.
- Spin test: Gently spin the blower by hand. If it is stiff or seized, the motor bearings may be failing and the motor should be replaced.
- Electrical test: If you are comfortable and qualified, test the fan motor windings and capacitor (if present). Replace the capacitor if it is out of tolerance.
- Replace motor: If the motor is open, shorted, or seized, install a new Honeywell indoor fan motor assembly.
- PCB check: If a new motor does not run and H6 persists, the indoor control board may be defective and require replacement.
