Possible Causes
Full bottom condensate tray, Blocked internal drain path, Stuck float switch, Kinked continuous drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit before draining water.
Steps:
- Drain the bottom tray: Move the unit to a location where water spillage is acceptable. Place a shallow pan under the lower drain plug, remove the cap, and allow all water to drain. Reinstall the cap securely.
- Check continuous drain (if used): Ensure the drain hose is not kinked, elevated above the drain outlet, or blocked. Flush the hose with water.
- Inspect float switch: If P1 returns immediately, remove the rear panel and inspect the float mechanism in the bottom tray. Clean any slime or debris and verify free movement.
- Test operation: Reassemble, plug in, and run the unit. If P1 no longer appears, the issue was likely a full tray or stuck float.
- Replace float switch: If the float switch does not change state when moved, replace it with a compatible Honeywell float switch assembly.
