Possible Causes
Full internal condensate tank, Blocked condensate drain, Faulty float switch or water level sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the unit off and unplug it before draining water.
Steps:
- Drain the tank: Move the unit to a location where water spillage is acceptable. Remove the lower drain cap or hose plug at the back/bottom and drain water into a shallow pan or tray.
- Check for blockages: Inspect the drain port and any attached hose for clogs. Clear debris with a small brush or pipe cleaner.
- Float switch: If P1 remains after draining, access the internal condensate tank (per manual) and inspect the float switch or water level sensor. Ensure the float moves freely and is not stuck by dirt or scale.
- Sensor replacement: If the float switch is damaged or stuck closed electrically, replace the condensate float switch / water level sensor.
Test: Reassemble, plug in, and run the unit. P1 should clear once the tank is empty and the switch is operating correctly.
