Possible Causes
Tripped circuit breaker, Blown internal fuse on main PCB, Faulty power cord, Defective main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always unplug the unit before opening any panels.
Steps:
- Check outlet and breaker: Plug a lamp or tester into the same outlet to confirm power. Reset any tripped breakers or replace blown fuses in the home panel.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or kinks in the Hotpoint power cord. If damaged, replace the power cord assembly.
- Check unit's plug/reset (if equipped): Some models have a resettable plug. Press the RESET button firmly.
- Internal fuse: Remove the front panel and inspect the main PCB for a small glass or blade fuse. If blown, replace with the same rating. If it blows again immediately, there is a deeper fault requiring a technician.
Note: If the unit still shows no signs of life, the main control PCB may be defective and should be replaced by a professional.
