Possible Causes
Failed membrane keypad, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and PCB, Liquid spill damage on control panel, Faulty display/control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect to rule out a temporary logic lockup.
- 2. Remove front bezel: Carefully remove the front panel to access the keypad and display board.
- 3. Check ribbon cable: Ensure the keypad ribbon is fully seated in the connector on the display board. Reseat it if necessary.
- 4. Inspect for moisture: Look for signs of water or cleaner intrusion on the keypad. If the membrane is swollen or delaminated, replace the control panel assembly.
- 5. Replace display/control board: If the keypad tests good but buttons still do not respond, replace the display/control PCB with an OEM Insignia part.
