Unit leaks water inside the room; water drips from the front panel or onto the window sill.

Safety first: Unplug the unit. Be prepared for water spillage when opening panels.

Steps to stop water leakage:

• 1. Check installation tilt (window units): The Insignia AC should be slightly tilted downward toward the outside (about 1/4–1/2 inch). Adjust the mounting bracket or window support if water is pooling inside.
• 2. Clean drain channel: Remove the front cover and locate the condensate drain trough under the evaporator coil. Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to remove slime and debris from the drain holes.
• 3. Inspect drain pan: For portable units, remove the rear panel and check the internal drain pan for cracks or misalignment. Replace if damaged.
• 4. Clear drain hose: If a drain hose is attached, disconnect and flush it with water to remove clogs. Ensure it slopes downward with no kinks.
• 5. Reassemble and test: After cleaning, run the unit and monitor for leaks. If water still appears inside, inspect for a misaligned evaporator coil or damaged pan that may require part replacement.
