Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM data, failed indoor control PCB, voltage spikes damaging memory circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker.
Steps:
- Power reset: Leave the unit powered off for at least 10 minutes, then restore power to see if the error clears.
- Check supply quality: Ensure the AC is not connected to a circuit with frequent brownouts or surges. Use a proper surge protector or voltage stabilizer if recommended in your region.
- Inspect PCB: Remove the indoor PCB cover and visually inspect for burnt components, corrosion, or insect damage.
- PCB replacement: If E9 persists, the indoor PCB (with EEPROM) usually must be replaced as a complete assembly with a Kelvinator-specific board.
Note: EEPROM reprogramming requires manufacturer tools; end-users typically cannot repair this fault at component level.
