Defrost Mode Indication / Defrost Sensor Issue
Kelvinator split AC shows H1 during heating mode and outdoor unit may defrost frequently.

Possible Causes
Normal defrost operation, faulty outdoor coil sensor, heavy frost due to low ambient and high humidity, poor outdoor airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: On many Kelvinator heat pump models, H1 is an informational code indicating defrost mode, not a fault.
User checks:
- Observe behavior: During H1, outdoor fan may stop and indoor unit may blow cooler air. This is normal for a few minutes.
- Check outdoor coil: If the outdoor coil is heavily iced and H1 persists for very long periods, ensure the coil is clean and airflow is not blocked.
- Clean coil: Gently remove debris and use warm (not hot) water to melt excessive ice if necessary. Do not chip ice with sharp tools.
Sensor/PCB issues: If H1 appears constantly and heating is poor, the outdoor coil sensor or defrost control on the PCB may be faulty and require technician service.
