Possible Causes
Dead remote batteries, blocked IR receiver window, faulty IR receiver board on indoor unit, remote control failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Steps:
- Replace batteries: Install fresh, correctly oriented batteries in the Kelvinator remote.
- Check IR transmission: Point the remote at a smartphone camera and press a button; you should see a flashing light on the camera screen if the remote is transmitting.
- Clear line of sight: Ensure nothing blocks the IR receiver window on the indoor unit.
- Use manual button: Some Kelvinator units have an emergency ON/OFF button under the front panel; test if the unit responds to that.
- Replace receiver board: If the remote works but the unit does not respond, the IR receiver/display PCB may need replacement.
