Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the air conditioner before accessing the fan area. Beware of sharp plastic and metal edges.
Steps:
- Check for obstructions: Remove the front grille and inspect the indoor blower wheel for foreign objects, dust buildup, or ice. Clear any obstructions.
- Spin test: Gently spin the blower by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff or noisy, the motor bearings may be failing.
- Clean the blower: Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove heavy dust from the blower wheel and housing.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the fan motor wires to the PCB. Ensure connectors are fully seated and wires are not cut or pinched.
- Capacitor (if present): Some Klarstein models use a separate fan capacitor. Test and replace it if the capacitance is out of spec.
- Motor replacement: If the motor hums but does not start, or does not run even with correct voltage, replace the indoor fan motor assembly with a Klarstein-compatible part.
If a new motor and capacitor do not clear E6, the main control PCB fan driver circuit is likely defective and should be replaced.
