Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM data, failed main control PCB, voltage surge damage, poor PCB grounding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening the control compartment.
Steps:
- Power reset: Unplug the unit or switch off the breaker for at least 10–15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Restore power and test.
- Check supply voltage: Use a multimeter to verify that the mains voltage is within Klarstein’s specified range. Persistent over/under-voltage can corrupt memory.
- Inspect PCB: Remove the control panel cover and visually inspect the main PCB for burn marks, corrosion, or insect damage. Clean light dust with dry compressed air.
- Grounding: Ensure the earth/ground wire is securely connected to the chassis and PCB ground points.
If E9 remains, the main control PCB’s memory is likely damaged. The board must be replaced with a genuine Klarstein control PCB programmed for your model.
