Possible Causes
Failed indoor fan motor, faulty fan capacitor, loose fan connector, blocked blower wheel, defective indoor PCB fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the indoor unit before opening the casing.
Steps:
- Check for obstructions: Remove the front cover and inspect the blower wheel for obstructions or ice.
- Spin test: Try turning the blower by hand. If stiff, the motor bearings may be seized.
- Capacitor (if used): Locate and test the indoor fan capacitor. Replace if out of spec.
- Motor replacement: If the motor does not run with correct voltage and a good capacitor, replace the indoor fan motor assembly.
If a new motor does not resolve the issue, the indoor PCB fan driver is likely faulty and must be replaced.
