Possible Causes
Open or shorted outdoor ambient sensor, Sensor exposed to direct sunlight or non-ambient conditions, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty outdoor PCB sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the outdoor disconnect before opening the outdoor unit.
- Step 1 – Locate sensor: The T3 sensor is usually mounted near the outdoor air intake, away from direct discharge air.
- Step 2 – Inspect mounting: Ensure the sensor is properly positioned to sense true outdoor air temperature, not touching hot components.
- Step 3 – Check wiring: Follow the sensor leads to the outdoor PCB. Reseat the connector and inspect for damage.
- Step 4 – Replace sensor: If F3 persists, replace the outdoor ambient sensor with a Klimaire-approved part.
