Indoor unit displays lights but does not respond to any buttons on the remote or front panel.

Safety first: No high-voltage work is required for basic checks.

• Step 1 – Disable child lock: On many Klimaire remotes, press and hold the LOCK or a combination (often '+' and '-' together) for several seconds to toggle child lock.
• Step 2 – Try manual button: Press the emergency/manual button on the indoor unit (if present). If it works, the issue is likely with the remote or IR receiver.
• Step 3 – Power reset: Turn OFF power at the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore to clear any control lockup.
• Step 4 – Replace remote or display board: If buttons on the unit itself do not respond, the display/keypad PCB may need replacement.
