How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the disconnect before touching the outdoor unit.
- Step 1 – Visual check: Confirm the compressor is running (vibration and sound) while the fan is stationary.
- Step 2 – Inspect wiring: Check the fan motor wires and connectors for burns or looseness.
- Step 3 – Capacitor test (if equipped): On non-inverter models with a separate fan capacitor, have it tested and replace if out of spec.
- Step 4 – Motor replacement: If the motor hums but will not start, or has seized bearings, replace the outdoor fan motor with the correct Klimaire part.
- Step 5 – PCB check: If the motor and capacitor are good, a technician should test the outdoor PCB fan output.
