Possible Causes
Dead remote batteries, Faulty remote control, Blocked IR receiver window on indoor unit, Failed IR receiver on display board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No high-voltage work is needed for basic checks, but turn OFF power if removing covers.
- Step 1 – Replace batteries: Install fresh, correctly oriented batteries in the Klimaire remote.
- Step 2 – Check remote output: Point the remote at a smartphone camera and press buttons; you should see the IR LED flash on the screen. If not, the remote is faulty.
- Step 3 – Clear line of sight: Ensure nothing blocks the IR receiver window on the indoor unit and clean it with a soft cloth.
- Step 4 – Test manual operation: Use the emergency/manual button on the indoor unit (if present). If the unit works manually but not via remote, the IR receiver or display board may be defective.
- Step 5 – Replace remote or display board: Try a known-good Klimaire remote first. If still no response, replace the indoor display/IR receiver board.
